Quick Answer: Great American Family is channel 326 on DIRECTV and channel 165 on DISH. On DIRECTV satellite it comes with CHOICE and every bigger package. On DISH it is in the Flex Pack, America’s Top 200 and America’s Top 250, but not in America’s Top 120 or 120+. Both satellite companies use one national channel map, so these numbers are the same in every state. On cable the number changes from town to town.

Which DIRECTV package has Great American Family?
DIRECTV’s satellite lineup marks each channel with dots for the packages that carry it. Great American Family has three dots, the same as NFL Network and Lifetime. That puts it in CHOICE, ULTIMATE and PREMIER. It is not in ENTERTAINMENT, the cheapest Signature package. We read the lineup twice and both reads matched.

What CHOICE really costs
DIRECTV’s packages page shows prices for DIRECTV via internet, which uses the Gemini box. It did not show satellite prices on October 29. Here is what a CHOICE bill looks like from the figures on that page.

The regional sports fee depends on your ZIP code, and some areas pay less. DIRECTV’s own FAQ also shows some totals that do not match its price cards. Check the total on the order screen before you pay.
Is Great American Family in DISH America’s Top 120?
No. We checked DISH’s own channel cards for every package. Channel 165 is missing from the America’s Top 120 card and the America’s Top 120 Plus card. It is listed on the Flex Pack, America’s Top 200 and America’s Top 250 cards. Each card was read twice.
This is easy to miss, because the Flex Pack is DISH’s smaller, cheaper package and Top 120 is the bigger one. Our DISH Flex Pack channel list shows the other channels you get there. Great American Faith & Living, the sister network on channel 248, works the other way: it is in Top 120 but not the Flex Pack.

The $6 fix for Top 120 customers
If you already have America’s Top 120, you do not need to move up a package. DISH’s $6 Heartland Pack adds Great American Family 165 and Great American Faith & Living 248, plus all three Hallmark channels, UPtv, Game Show Network and a few more. DISH’s channel guide says its channel packs need the Flex Pack or a higher package.
Top 120 with the Heartland Pack comes to $100.99 a month at the advertised price. Top 200 is $114.99, so the add-on saves $14 a month if Great American Family is the only reason to upgrade. After the 2-year price guarantee, DISH lists Top 120 at $107.99 and Top 200 at $122.99. Taxes, surcharges, extra receivers ($5 to $7 per TV) and add-ons are not part of the guaranteed price. Worth knowing: DISH does not post a Flex Pack price on its packages page. Cord Cutters News reported it at $74.99 a month on October 7, 2026, and listed the Heartland Pack at $6, which matches DISH’s own add-on page.
What channel is Great American Family on cable?
There is no single cable number. Spectrum, Xfinity, Cox, Verizon Fios, Mediacom and other cable companies each place the channel where they like, and the spot can differ between two towns served by the same company. Some cable plans may not include it.

Yes. The network’s own help page names Frndly TV, Fubo, Philo, Hulu, DIRECTV STREAM and Sling TV, and YouTube TV started carrying it in September 2025. Streaming services do not use channel numbers. You find the channel by name in the live guide.

Is Great American Family the same as GAC Family?
Yes. The channel started in 1995 as Great American Country. New owners relaunched it as GAC Family on September 27, 2021, and it took the name Great American Family on August 20, 2022. Some guides and websites still show the old name, and DIRECTV’s own web address for channel 326 still says GAC Family.
