Quick Answer: Hallmark Channel is channel 312 on DIRECTV, and it comes in every Signature package, starting with ENTERTAINMENT. Its two sister channels sit higher up the guide: Hallmark Mystery is channel 565 in the ULTIMATE and PREMIER packages, and Hallmark Family is channel 564, which you only get with the Movies Extra Pack add-on ($9.99 a month). DIRECTV uses one national channel map, so these numbers are the same in every state.
Last checked: 22 October 2026, against DIRECTV’s satellite and internet Signature Packages channel lineups (both effective 29 July 2026), DIRECTV’s packages page, and DIRECTV Insider’s Movies Extra Pack page (modified 13 July 2026).
| Channel | DIRECTV number (national) | Old name | How you get it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hallmark Channel | 312 | Same name | All four Signature packages |
| Hallmark Mystery | 565 | Hallmark Movies & Mysteries | ULTIMATE, PREMIER, or the Movies Extra Pack |
| Hallmark Family | 564 | Hallmark Drama | Movies Extra Pack only |
To jump straight there, type 312 on your DIRECTV remote. DIRECTV’s internet lineup (for the Gemini box and the app) lists the same numbers as satellite.
Which DIRECTV package has the Hallmark channels?
DIRECTV sells four main packages, which it calls Signature packages. Each one includes everything in the package below it, plus more channels. The main Hallmark Channel is in all of them, so even the cheapest plan gets you the new Christmas movies.
The other two channels are where people get stuck. Hallmark Mystery only shows up from ULTIMATE upward. Hallmark Family is not in any of the four packages at all. It only comes in an add-on called the Movies Extra Pack.
| Package (national) | Hallmark Channel 312 | Hallmark Mystery 565 | Hallmark Family 564 |
|---|---|---|---|
| ENTERTAINMENT | Yes | No | No |
| CHOICE | Yes | No | No |
| ULTIMATE | Yes | Yes | No |
| PREMIER | Yes | Yes | No |
| Any package + Movies Extra Pack | Yes | Yes | Yes |
None of DIRECTV’s smaller Genre Packs carried a Hallmark channel when we went through them in October. Our DIRECTV Genre Packs guide lists what each of those packs does include. For every other channel and its package, see our full DIRECTV channel lineup.
What is the cheapest way to get all three Hallmark channels?
The cheapest route is to keep ENTERTAINMENT and add the Movies Extra Pack. It costs less than moving up to ULTIMATE. It is also the only way to get Hallmark Family. The pack is $9.99 a month. Along with the two Hallmark channels, it adds HDNet Movies, Sony Movies, Smithsonian Channel, Crime + Investigation, MTV Live and ShortsTV, plus a Peacock Premium subscription.
The table uses DIRECTV’s own October 2026 prices for its internet-delivered packages, for months 2 to 24 of the offer. It includes the $10 monthly Gemini box lease that DIRECTV lists as required. DIRECTV also adds a Regional Sports Fee of up to $19.99 a month on CHOICE and higher, so ULTIMATE is shown at that maximum. Taxes are extra on every line.
| Option (months 2 to 24) | Package price | Add-ons and fees | Monthly total before tax | Hallmark channels |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ENTERTAINMENT only | $84.99 ($89.99 minus $5 off) | $10 Gemini lease | $94.99 | 312 |
| ENTERTAINMENT + Movies Extra Pack | $84.99 | $10 Gemini lease, $9.99 pack | $104.98 | 312, 565, 564 |
| ULTIMATE only | $114.99 ($129.99 minus $15 off) | $10 Gemini lease, up to $19.99 sports fee | Up to $144.98 | 312, 565 |
So the add-on route costs about $40 a month less than ULTIMATE and gives you one more Hallmark channel. ULTIMATE only makes sense if you also want its extra sports and news channels.
Worth knowing: DIRECTV lists its satellite prices on a separate page. We did not check those prices this time. Satellite customers need DIRECTV’s Advanced Receiver service and an HD or HD DVR receiver to get the Movies Extra Pack channels, according to DIRECTV’s support article. Look for the pack under add-ons on the Manage TV Package page of your account.
The pack also includes Peacock Premium, which is why many people add it. Our Peacock on DIRECTV guide compares that route with buying Peacock on its own.
Why can’t I find Hallmark Movies & Mysteries or Hallmark Drama?
Both channels changed their names in early 2024. Hallmark Drama became Hallmark Family on 28 February, and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries became Hallmark Mystery on 6 March. The channel numbers on DIRECTV did not change, so 564 and 565 are the same channels under new names.
Some older lists, printed guides and even a few of DIRECTV’s own web pages still use the old names. If you search the on-screen guide for “Movies & Mysteries” and get nothing, search for “Hallmark Mystery” instead, or just type 565.
Where are the Countdown to Christmas movies on DIRECTV?
The new Christmas movies air first on Hallmark Channel, channel 312. Every DIRECTV package has it. This year’s Countdown to Christmas began on Friday, 16 October 2026, with 34 new movies, per Forbes (10 October 2026) and Primetimer. That ties Hallmark’s earliest start.
So the lowest-priced package is enough to see the new Christmas films. You only need the Movies Extra Pack or ULTIMATE for the two other Hallmark channels.
Hallmark not showing on DIRECTV? Quick fixes
| Problem | Likely fix |
|---|---|
| Channel 312 says you are not subscribed | Check the plan name on your bill. Every Signature package includes 312, but some older or Genre Pack plans do not. Call DIRECTV or check your account. |
| Channel 565 is blank or locked | Hallmark Mystery needs ULTIMATE, PREMIER or the Movies Extra Pack. |
| Channel 564 is blank or locked | Hallmark Family needs the Movies Extra Pack. No standard package includes it. |
| You added the pack but 564 and 565 still do not work on satellite | The pack needs an HD or HD DVR receiver with Advanced Receiver service. Restart the receiver from the menu and wait a few minutes. |
| The guide shows a name you do not recognize | Hallmark Mystery is the old Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Hallmark Family is the old Hallmark Drama. |
Can you watch Hallmark for less without DIRECTV?
Yes. If Hallmark movies are the main thing you watch, a small streaming service costs far less than any DIRECTV package. These services have no channel numbers. You pick Hallmark from the app’s guide.
| Service | Price (checked 22 Oct 2026) | Hallmark channels | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Frndly TV | From $8.99 a month (Classic $10.99, Premium $12.99) | Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Mystery, Hallmark Family | 7-day free trial. No sports and no local news. |
| Philo Essential | $25 a month | Hallmark Channel is listed | 7-day free trial for new users. Philo’s home page did not list the other two Hallmark channels. |
| Hallmark+ | $9 a month as an add-on on Philo | Not live channels | Hallmark’s own streaming service. Forbes reports new Christmas movies arrive there the day after they air. |
Frndly TV is the cheapest way we found to get all three Hallmark channels live. Our Frndly TV channels list shows the rest of its lineup, and the Philo channel lineup covers Philo’s plans. Pair either one with a free antenna for local news and you have most of what a Hallmark household watches.
If you already pay for DIRECTV for sports or locals, keep it and add the Movies Extra Pack for the season. You can drop the pack again in January, once Countdown to Christmas is over. For other channel numbers on DIRECTV, DISH or cable, try our channel number finder.
